Blogpost Week06
The second sprint of our production phase has started!
As for art, the model of the second character looks about done! Take a look! Next up is unwrapping, texturing and skinning. Then two more to go!
We also started on some particles, and are currently creating a particle for when a player gets hit.
This is how it looks right now, but we need to see it in action before we can really get an idea of what else has to be done.
Another animation was added to the list, this time a throwing animation
We normalized the scales of the objects and the players. We also had to scale down the cube to fit the size of the objects. All intractable objects in the first scene got their trigger box, so you can interact with them from now on.
After some work we have our own state machine implementation. Which will be used for the gamestates by next week.
Lastly we added additional assets as well, our Wild West desert level.
PROGRAMMING:
For this week, we have fixed few stuffs from previous sprint like weapon behavior, swinging animation and player script. We are trying to make game state machine as well. Moreover, we are also making our start screen for the game with rotating cube animation of our levels.
In disco level, we made a swinging disco ball that knock players off which is one of interesting and challenging aspect of this level as well. The swinging animation works quite well except the knock off effect that doesn't work really well with our character controller where we need to look into and make it more better.
We started working on the main menu and ui system. We want the main menu feel alive so we decided on a 3d interactive space where a button press will take the user around the cube. This means if you click on options the camera would zoom in on a level with the menu for the options.
